Paintings compilation

Today is the first day in nearly 30 days that I’m not painting or thinking of what I’ll be painting. I am still working on it though, because today I’ve made a paintings compilation of all I’ve got accomplished during this challenge. Also, now I need to touch up a few that could use some tweaking and then varnish the paintings. After that, I need to photograph them, archive them, upload them, make new pages for each to get them ready to sell.

It feels kinda weird knowing I don’t have to hurry and get down into my art studio. I feel like going down there and starting a new painting. But I have a lot to do, a lot to catch up on. My garden has started to spring up and I didn’t pull away all the leaves and tree liter from last fall. That in itself is a huge job. I also need to keep up with my website, there are issues right now, another huge job but part of owning an art business.

My goal was to paint more and get better by doing so. I feel like I have gotten better, always more to learn but I have learned so much more about my way of painting. I used to feel I was doing it all wrong, turns out that is my style of creating a painting. I guess it doesn’t matter how you do it as long as you’re satisfied with the outcome. When I started the challenge, I thought of contacting someone I know for some lessons to help me learn the “right way”. I think now though, I can just keep working myself and figure things out on my own.

When I look at my paintings compilation I feel a great sense of accomplishment. I’ve already painted more paintings in the last 30 days than I did the entire year of 2017. I plan to keep on painting more. Not a painting a day mind you, but more often than I was in the habit of doing. Time to set a new goal for myself.

Thanks for following along and rootin’ for me! I did it! I painted 25 paintings in all, 1 digital painting and 24 physical paintings.

I wrote a blog post for each and every painting, so if you want to know more about any one in particular you’ll find it on my blog.

About Me

Learn more about me on the ‘About’ page in the menu at the top. I’m an artist – a painter mostly and an avid gardener. I paint a variety of subjects including birds, koi fish, my gardens, ponds and flowers as well as anything having to do with nature especially trees and tropical scenes. I also enjoy painting abstracts and have started creating more and more of them. My most favorite thing to try to achieve in my painting is mystery.

If you would like to keep up with what I’m doing, join my email list. About once a month I send out a letter that gives you invitations for shows, birthday greeting, sneak peeks at new work and more. I’d love for you to add your email to my Friends and Collectors list!
