All during the month of March, I’m the featured artist at Bluestocking Social. It’s a great little indie bookstore in Evansville, Indiana. My paintings are sprinkled around the store on display and for sale.

This is a such a unique bookstore that’s locally owned. The owners of Bluestocking Social do a great deal for the art scene locally in the way of featuring an Artist of the Month, art classes, art talks, exhibits and sales of books and even some art supplies.

The owners are husband and wife team (Annie & Matt Fitzpatrick) along with their sweet little girl and ridiculously cute shop dog (a pug), Huxley. Super great people that want to help make this world a better and more creative place. I’m all for that.

This exhibit has two new pieces that I’ve not shown yet or even offered for sale anywhere until now. I usually offer my newest paintings to my email list first, but I just didn’t have the time to send out the email before I needed to get my paintings at Bluestocking Social. Sign up for my email list, which is different than my blog email just so you know, to get VIP treatment and special perks with my art.

I love poppies and have painted many of them. In fact, I need to sprinkle some seeds out before it’s too late. This should’ve been done already, but who knows maybe I’ll get lucky and get some to come up.

They need cold stratification in order for them to germinate. Since our really cold below freezing nights are hopefully behind us, I’m going to put a few seeds into an ice cube tray along with water and freeze it and then drop the poppy cubes where I want them to grow. Now, I haven’t tried this trick before, but I don’t see why it won’t work. I’ll report my findings later this spring.

Daylight Saving Time begins tomorrow, so don’t forget to set your clocks for an hour ahead before you go to bed tonight!

Learn more about me on the ‘About’ page under the additional links menu. I’m an artist – a painter mostly and an avid gardener. I paint a variety of subjects including birds, koi fish, my gardens, ponds and flowers as well as anything having to do with nature especially trees and tropical scenes. I also enjoy painting abstracts and have started created more and more of them. My most favorite thing to try to achieve in my painting is is mystery and telling mystical stories.

If you would like to keep up with what I’m doing, I have a newsletter e-mailed about once a month that gives you special status for invitations, birthday greeting and more. I’d love for you to add your email to my Friends and Collectors list!
