I am getting everything ready for the show this weekend, Christmas in New Harmony. It is my last show of the year and I hope to go out with a bang! I’ve had a lot of shows this year, the most ever.
New for this year are hand painted glass ornaments. I’ve just made four so far, I’m testing the waters. I have two ornaments with winter trees, one with a fresh pear and the words “…and a partridge in a pear tree” which I think turned out cute and I’m waiting for the paint layers to dry on my final one which is a crescent moon. Later, I’ll be adding face details and some sort of wording for it as soon as it dries which will probably be after I finish up this post.
Also, three new paintings are making their debut, a series that I’m debating the name for still. I have one in mind but I wonder if it’s too dark. This is supposed to be a happy time of year after all and you wouldn’t recognize the melancholy I don’t think by the paintings themselves.
Many of my paintings are very symbolic to me and sometimes that symbolism stays only with me. They seem so personal and almost raw that I’m too self-conscious to share my inner most feelings… they just come out with the paint.
I’m so looking forward to Christmas in New Harmony this year because it’s completely full as far as vendors go in the Artisans Market. I have many artist friends in the show and catching up with them and seeing their new pieces they’ve been working on is so fun.
The Artisans Market is in the Rapp-Owen Granary at 413 Granary St. New Harmony, Indiana. Sadly, we are not on the parade path but we’re worth the extra couple of blocks needed to walk. Fine art and fine crafts is what you will find in this beautifully restored historic building.
Below is a quick run down on the details of the show and if you want times of all of the events going on during the weekend starting with Friday evening which is the annual town Christmas tree lighting, then go to my EVENTS page where you’ll find maps and times for concerts and other fun events.

I’m excited to share new paintings that I’ve created this year at the annual Artisans Craft Market at the Rapp Owen Granary! This is a very family friendly event and the whole town is involved. The Granary is on Granary Street. It may seem like it’s a little off the beaten path from the downtown area, but it it is just a few short blocks from everything going on.
Celebrate the warmth and excitement of the Holiday Season and get in the holiday spirit while you get your Christmas shopping done. Art makes a wonderful gift for someone special or a gift for yourself. In the Artisans Market there will be many art vendors including paintings, handcrafted pottery, fiber art, handblown glass, handcrafted wood gifts, and handcrafted jewelry.
Shop for unique Christmas decorations and gifts at the Antique and Craft Sale in the Ribeyre Gym & Rapp Annex (S. Main and W. Tavern Streets). More craft shopping across the street at the Odd Fellows Building (S. Main and E. Tavern Streets).

Learn more about me on the ‘About’ page in the menu at the top. I’m an artist – a painter mostly and an avid gardener. I paint a variety of subjects including birds, koi fish, my gardens, ponds and flowers as well as anything having to do with nature especially trees and tropical scenes. I also enjoy painting abstracts and have started created more and more of them. My most favorite thing to try to achieve in my painting is is mystery.
If you would like to keep up with what I’m doing, I have a newsletter e-mailed about once a month that gives you special status for invitations, birthday greeting and more. I’d love for you to add your email to my Friends and Collectors list!
