Do you like to travel? While I enjoy traveling, I really think I’m a homebody by nature. I love tinkering in my gardens during the warmer months. I don’t like to leave for fear of missing to see a bloom! Silly I know.
When I do have thoughts of exploration and travel though, I think big like Indiana Jones! Or Josh Gates and that series Expedition Unknown! (I LOVE that show) Ha ha! These old dusty tools come to mind like the monocular which shows you where you can go pirate style!
For instance, across that rolling sea or perhaps on a camel across the dessert. You’ll need the compass tells you where you which way is north, right? Anyway, this painting/drawing combo conjures up real wanderlust for this usual homebody as long as I have someone to feed my pets and water my plants.
I created this piece using a combination of drawing, watercolor and digital work putting them all together. Don’t you think it’s perfect for a traveler’s wall? Perhaps a man cave or a children’s room inspiring their little imaginations to take them away. I think it would look very handsome paired with my watercolor painting of a wooden ship here.
You can purchase prints of this compass and monocular in all sizes as well as greeting cards at my Print on Demand Shop here. Beautiful matting and framing is available so your piece will come to you ready to hang right out of the box if you so choose!
