Even though I missed Throw Back Thursday I thought just for fun today, I’d post a sketch I drew from a long ways back I call Starry Eyed. I made a new board on Pinterest the other day called The Eyes Have It so I thought I’d pin my own drawing for it. Why not, right?
I’m a doodler and there’s no telling what I’ll come up with. My dad must’ve noticed this early on since he’s an artist, too. So he got me my first sketch book a very long time ago and told me to always keep my drawings to look back on and to tape in ones I didn’t draw in the book. I was the kid that drew on all my folders and yes, even school books. Most of my homework had doodles on it or on the back.
Do you ever mindlessly doodle? I always have. Especially when I used to have to sit through meetings at work. My doodling style is usually some kind of far out surreal creature or monster or fantasy type of thing. When I was younger I wanted to be a surrealist, but I’ve widened my scope as I’ve grown older. When on the phone or when I find a chance to mindlessly doodle I tend to doodle eye balls and stars. Always have. I’ve got eye balls sketched on everything. I used to draw all over my tennis shoes, thankfully my mom never minded and always encouraged my creativity. Guess it’s paying off finally since I now am a full time artist.
Some people are circle doodlers or flower doodlers, what do you doodle when you’re on the phone or bored? I’d love to know. By the way, if you want to see all my pins or follow me here I am on Pinterest (a fun eye candy space!)
Hi Jaime. Thx for stopping by my blog. I read that “tilling” article and printed it out for my husband. He roto tills every year and in fact just did. As for doodling, well that’s about all I can really do.:() tee hee. Your eye looks great. I always loved your work.
Thank you Gloria! I wish I could get my husband to stop tilling. You do more than doodle!! Thanks for stopping by!
