For the month of October, I’ve got another art exhibit at the Alexandrian Public Library in Mount Vernon Indiana. I just got it put up Monday. I took a few photos and a short video of the exhibit to share with you. Also, I had Asher (my son) with me so I took advantage of that and had him take a few photos of me with my paintings. Win!
He was out of school Monday, well it was an e-learning day. There was a kid at his high school that tested positive for Covid and they needed the extra day to sanitize more and figure out the seating arrangement to contact those kids’ parents. Jeesh what a nightmare this all is. Hopefully, the student recovers with no issues and it hasn’t been passed around. I haven’t been notified, so that’s a good thing.
I’ve had multiple art exhibits at Alexandrian Public Library. I think this might be the first time I’ve had October though. Since I like the moody and spooky stuff, I thought I’d love to have the October art exhibit. Wouldn’t you know it, most all of my spooky related paintings have sold! That’s a great problem to have though.
I painted a special painting just for the exhibit and dang if it didn’t fit! The very first hook is above a fire alarm and my painting covered about an inch of it. Yep that’s a big fat no go. I’ll take another fall related painting in to fill in that slot. Yes, I could’ve replaced one of the other paintings, but I felt they were a bit stronger for the art exhibit this time so I’ll just hold off on that one and share it other ways.
I took a quick video in case you’d like to see the hall where the art exhibit is.
Here are the photos I took from the art exhibit.
All of these paintings are for sale, but I’ve procrastinated on putting them here on my website in the shop. Some are on here but I don’t think I’ve even talked about the sunflowers one let alone upload it yet. Social media unfortunately gets my attention more because it demands it. Post often or be lost forever to your followers. It’s exhausting.
Sometimes I feel like I’m in my very own virtual rat race. I miss the days of rich and entertaining blogs that went on for paragraphs deeply into the minds of the writer. Everyone had a blog ten years ago and now it seems it’s been condensed to a short paragraph (if that) and it’s wham bam, thank ya ma’am. Next. Ugh.
I know I’m old school. I write too long of posts… go on forever about subjects I’m passionate about. That’s just me. Hopefully, you enjoy what you see and read on here and keep coming back. I do appreciate you doing that.
If you were wondering, I have gotten my plants back into the greenhouse. Right now, it’s a lush jungle and I’ll share some photos later. The daytime heating is making the temps really swing to extremes, but they’ll just have to roll with the punches, just like the rest of us.

Learn more about me on the ‘About’ page under the additional links menu. I’m an artist – a painter mostly and an avid gardener. I paint a variety of subjects including birds, koi fish, my gardens, ponds and flowers as well as anything having to do with nature especially trees and tropical scenes. I also enjoy painting abstracts and have started created more and more of them. My most favorite thing to try to achieve in my painting is is mystery and telling mystical stories.
If you would like to keep up with what I’m doing, I have a newsletter e-mailed about once a month that gives you special status for invitations, birthday greeting and more. I’d love for you to add your email to my Friends and Collectors list!
