I’ve got another art exhibit up! There’s five of my abstract paintings up at Honey Moon Coffee Co. along with my friend Lori Rivera’s paintings. She’s got one wall and I’ve got the other.
Honey Moon Coffee Co. Art Exhibit
Honey Moon Coffee Co. is a beautiful place for my newest art exhibit. Come in to see my paintings along with Lori’s. We just hung them last Friday and they will be on exhibit all through July. While your there, they have all kinds of delicious things from coffee to wine slushes! Not to mention delicious food. My friend Jody says their breakfast sandwich is out of this world with bacon jelly.
Honey Moon Coffee Co. Art Exhibit – Behind the Scenes:
Originally, I had planned on using 5 other paintings, much larger 30″x40″ paintings. But then last minute, I thought I’d Google Honey Moon to see the interior space via photos. That’s when I noticed there was a chair rail and that the tables were tall with stools. My paintings wouldn’t fit!
Geesh… I had spent all day tweaking a few of them for the show and preparing and printing title cards. I had to immediately switch gears and think of what paintings I could take that would fit the space. Luckily, I happen to have enough in inventory that were fairly cohesive to display together. Whew.
When I got there, my friend Lori was waiting for me along with her beautiful daughter Autumn. She was our little helper and she did such a great job. Below is Autumn helping Lori straighten her paintings. She really was a lot of help. I mean, who wants to climb up there and do that? She did!
Below: Lucky me with Autumn helping me hang all of my paintings!
Above all, I’m so appreciative to the local businesses like Honey Moon Coffee Co. that graciously allow artists like myself and Lori to share our work with them and the public. If you happen to be on the east side of Evansville and are needing a coffee or other delicious beverage (The pina colada is delish) or want a full blown meal, stop by and then check out our art. We welcome selfies with our art, make sure to tag us so we’ll see it! On Instagram we’re @JaimeHaney and @LoriRivera.art
Don’t forget all artwork is for sale if you see a piece you’d like to have. I’ll feature my paintings that I have on display here in my next post. You don’t have to be local to purchase a painting, we both will happily ship it to you.
I hope your week is going great.
Learn more about me on the ‘About’ page under the additional links menu. I’m an artist – a painter mostly and an avid gardener. I paint a variety of subjects including birds, koi fish, my gardens, ponds and flowers as well as anything having to do with nature especially trees and tropical scenes. I also enjoy painting abstracts and have started created more and more of them. My most favorite thing to try to achieve in my painting is is mystery and telling mystical stories.
If you would like to keep up with what I’m doing, I have a newsletter e-mailed about once a month that gives you special status for invitations, birthday greeting and more. I’d love for you to add your email to my Friends and Collectors list!
I’m so thankful as well for businesses like Honey Moon who support the local art community! 💗
It’s wonderful they’re doing this!
What a nice display of your work. Glad you had a stash! And kudos to local businesses for supporting the arts. It sounds like a great coffee place and now I’m hung up on the thought of bacon jam. I have canning friends who have made it and it always sounded weird but now I might need to check into it. And seriously…wine slushes?!? Sounds like the perfect thing to sip while sitting there admiring your and Lori’s work.
Thank you Lisa! I’m so glad for my stash as well. There are a few places near where I live that accept artists work to hang on their walls and allow us to try and sell. Some places charge us a commission, some don’t. They’re getting free and fresh art to display, so I see it as a win-win for both parties. The bacon jam… I know, right?! I’m a little obsessed with trying it myself! One of my favorite chain type restaurants is Rafferty’s. I don’t know if you have them in your larger town near you but they have this house dressing for salad that is honey mustard and hot bacon… Oh My God. It is so delicious. So that bacon jam is something I’d love to get my hands on, you should definitely hit your friend up for a sample and let me know how it is. Wine slushes? What other magical goodness can they think up?? My mouth is watering now and it’s still only morning! Thanks for stopping by Lisa, always fun to have you comment.
