Wishing you and your family the Merriest of Christmases!
Another year has nearly passed and I wanted to take a moment to say thank you for following along with my art journey, my gardens and my life here on my blog. I hope you’re able to spend time with those you love and this is a relaxing and reflective time for you.
Christmas can go so many ways. Once you lose someone dear to you, it changes. It did for me when I lost my mom. But having Asher, my son, keeps me celebrating even if in a wistful state sometimes.
This year, with all the hurriedness I neglected to put up a tree. I know, I know, I feel horribly guilty about it. My son keeps telling me he doesn’t care. He’s 16. It’s not so much me wanting things to be perfect, it’s the memories I want to create for him. I don’t want him not having good memories regarding Christmas. So last night, I did dig out a box of easy to put up poinsettia garland and decorations. That certainly made it feel more like Christmas.
It was a quiet Christmas Eve and my son, my husband and I all sat together in the living and watched Top Gun, the sequel together as a family. Maybe not a traditional Christmas Eve, but warm and hopefully memory worthy.
If you’re not having a “normal” Christmas, try not to beat yourself up over it. We’re doing the best we can, right?
Merry Christmas dear friend.
Love,
Jaime

Learn more about me on the ‘About’ page under the additional links menu. I’m an artist – a painter mostly and an avid gardener. I paint a variety of subjects including birds, koi fish, my gardens, ponds and flowers as well as anything having to do with nature especially trees and tropical scenes. I also enjoy painting abstracts and have started created more and more of them. My most favorite thing to try to achieve in my painting is is mystery and telling mystical stories.
If you would like to keep up with what I’m doing, I have a newsletter e-mailed about once a month that gives you special status for invitations, birthday greeting and more. I’d love for you to add your email to my Friends and Collectors list!
The garland is lovely and adds that warm Christmas magic. Christmas has been fading in our house over the last three years. It used to be my favorite holiday but there doesn’t seem to be any magic left. But we’re all okay with that and it was actually the most stress-free Christmas I’ve had! I do think I need to find a similar garland though. Looking forward to seeing what you create in the coming year.
Hi Lisa! I have to say, I feel like quite the genius with the garland. It was quick to put up and will be even easier to put away in its tub when I’m done with it. I hear you on the sentiment about the last 3 years. Really, the only thing that matters is time with loved ones and friends. My new mantra for Christmas… Low Key. At least until one day hopefully when I’m blessed with a grandchild. (but not too soon!).
I have big plans for 2023 creative wise! Thanks for popping in, I always enjoy your comments.
