Painting 19 is an abstract sansevieria plant or commonly called mother-in-law’s tongue called Watch your tongue!. 8×8 inches on masonite. It’s part of the forever ongoing 30 paintings in 30 days. Yes, I realize I am falling way behind but I am painting more in this one month than I normally would so I am considering it a win. I’m not fooling myself into thinking I’ll have 30 paintings in 30 days but who knows.
I happen to love all plants even the ones a lot of people think of as too common. Take the mother-in-law’s tongue for instance. You just can’t kill this plant… kinda like the ol’ mother-in-law… it just doesn’t go away. Ha ha… now my mother-in-law doesn’t read my blog I don’t think but I better save my own butt here in case and say I think she would like this painting if for nothing else than it’s colors. Those are her colors and truth be told, she’s not too bad a mother-in-law.
I’m not sure if this painting is completely finished or not, I see some tweaking I could do. But it’s a fun piece and I think it will look great framed. I really appreciate the inquiries on the paintings as to whether or not they are for sale and how much. Yes they are for sale and when I get time, I’ll make buy now buttons for them. By the way almost all of the 30 in 30 paintings are square 8×8 inch paintings on masonite and sold unframed. They will need to be framed as the edges are raw and there’s no way to hang it on a wall.
