Painting 5 is “Old Timer”, an old white raven with a whimsical hat perched on a tree limb with a colorful abstract sky behind him. I really enjoy creating little characters out of these ravens and crows that I paint. I feel they have a lot personality.
“Old Timer”, 8″x8″ was painted on masonite. The original is sold but prints are available as well as note cards. See the framed sold painting below.
I love the white crow and his jaunty hat! What a character.
Thank you Cindy! I love that word jaunty, haha! Thanks for commenting 🙂
Well, *of course* I’m going to love this one! Absolutely wonderful. Aren’t they one of the most enjoyable things to paint? It’s the one thing I feel really drawn to paint, hence the title of my blog.
I really like what you did with him. I knew you had painted a few others but I didn’t realize you too had a compulsion to capture them on the canvas : )
Oh yes, I am compelled too. I’m not sure why but I too just love painting these guys. I have all kinds of ideas for them, hopefully I’ll be able to get the ideas out of my head and onto canvas. You know there are crow/raven people and then there are not. Ha ha… I guess we just have to follow our heart, right? Thanks for popping in Tina! I am enjoying your comments during this 30 day challenge 🙂 How’s the little guy?
Congrats on a great start to your painting challenge. Looking wonderful so far (the chickens are my favorite!).
The more we paint, the better we get. It’s kind of exciting, really.
It’s really cold here, too. Negative 20 the last time I looked at the thermometer! Craziness!
You are so right Anne. I am hoping that will just happen with me, too. (getting better the more we paint). Negative 20 is just wrong, LOL. The way I figure it though, once it gets below about 20 degrees, it’s all the same. I hate cold weather and I’m ready for my flowers and plants to come back. I know you are too in your new home! Thanks Anne for popping by and commenting.
Ohhh. You do have the crow gift. R
Thank you! I hope I can attract them soon like you do. I’ll try the peanuts and bread. Thanks!
