About the painting A Girl and Her Bird Print: This is a print of the original painting of a girl and her bird in unseen danger. Do you see the danger lurking and hiding just waiting to pounce?! I love how the bird is in blissful unknowingness while the girl senses danger but is looking in the wrong direction. My first strokes of this painting were eyes of the bird and the nose of the girl. The painting all came together once I found them or rather they showed themselves to me.
As I paint this type of painting, I start with a white gesso’d substrate (surface I’m painting on) and use a brush with india ink to start painting random lines. I then allow the painting to basically paint itself. It morphs into a scene that I see and I pull out what wants to be seen. I never know what the final painting will look like until the piece tells me it’s finished. After the india ink, I paint mostly with metallic acrylics but also non metallic. The end result for the original is a shimmering beautiful piece that reminds me of a painted mosaic. The flatness of the india ink and the contrast of the shimmering metallic is something I like very much.

About the printing process: Chromogenic color prints are full-color photographic prints made using chromogenic materials and processes, just like your photos you have processed. A 16″ x 20″ reproduction of Abundant Blessings 1 is printed on Kodak Supra Endura Professional Photographic Paper. The printed image is 11″ x 11″ positioned top centered on 16″ x 20″ paper with white around it for easy framing. Please note this listing is for the fine art print only, no mat or frame will be sent.
About the paper: Kodak Supra Endura photographic paper has an extraordinary color gamut and state-of-the art image stability. I prefer two of the four papers available, one is the matte the other being the metallic.
Most prints are on the matte photographic paper. But sometimes the painting just seems like it will glow and jump off the paper when using metallic paper, so on the paintings I feel the metallic would work well on, I include that as an option for you.
Metallic paper prints are a budget-friendly way to create modern wall art. Metallic paper provides an exceptionally vibrant print with the shine and shimmer of metal. This highly durable paper is mostly white with a signature metallic finish, making it ideal for a wide range of images.
I do commission paintings if you are wanting an original of your own. Please let me know if I can paint you a version or if there is a special subject you would like to have painted. See more about commissions on my about page.
