Description
This earthy painting was created years after my mother passed after her short battle with cancer. Art has a way of helping me cope with every facet in my life. My mom loved rich, earthy colors and as I mixed the paint she was immediately on my mind. Out poured this collection.
Earthy colors of burgundy, blue, green and gold flowed from my brush. The sides are painted dark. This collection of paintings carry both a solemn and yet peaceful feeling for me.
“Free From Earthly Roots” is an acrylic painting depicting wheat kernels gently floating and landing in water, the roots no longer grasping for the wheat. Spiritual context of accepting ones death.
Earthy painting
This is part of a series I painted called Clinging to Life. It is a painted series I made expressing my feelings and emotions of the process of death and our journey onto what is after.
If you’d like to dive in deeper of my thoughts while I was painting this collection I’ve written a blog post about it here… A deeper look at Clinging to Life series.
