Description
This small abstract painting evokes the colors of the sky at sunset to me. Real sunset colors perhaps look differently than the ones in my imagination. Where I live, our house is situated in a small dish-like valley. We have woods behind us and along side of us. Unfortunately, I don’t get to see the beautiful sunset colors we have here in southern Indiana because of how our house is situated on the property.
After a storm seems to make the best sunset colors I think. I have been known to drive down our gravel road and up the hill just to see the spectacular shades. I’m more of a sunset person than a sunrise person. At least at this stage in my life since I’m a night owl.
This little abstract painting is what I’d call a study. I’m studying different colors and how they interact with one another. The shapes and strokes I create provide me endless amusement. Sometimes I create brand new color palettes I love, sometimes not so much, that’s why it’s called a study. Each study is an original painting, I don’t think I could recreate them exactly if I tried.
The dimensions for this painting are 3.5″x2.5″. The painting is continued on the sides, so it looks nice from all angles. I’ve glued on a strong round magnet on the back and you can hang it in any direction you want. You can also hang these in a grouping on a wall, just hang it by a small nail. It’s very lightweight.
These original studies are a perfect way to add to or start an art collection. Each one has an individual number assigned to it. This one is 19-015. Varnished and signed on the back by me, Jaime Haney.
