Rabbit Rabbit Rabbit. Because it’s the first of the month. Okay, today is the second but I had intentions of posting this yesterday so I’m doing it anyway.
Where does “Rabbit rabbit rabbit” come from? It’s a superstition found in Britain and North America wherein a person says or repeats the words “rabbit”, “rabbits” and/or “white rabbits” aloud upon waking on the first day of a month, to ensure good luck for the rest of it. Who can’t use all the good luck they can muster, right?
These rabbits each come with a small frame and are packaged up with a red glittery bow that’s ready to gift for Valentine’s Day. I don’t have them listed yet so if you’re interested just leave me a comment.
I did post in December about me creating these sweet little rabbits. You can see that post here.
My mom had a decent collection of rabbits for some reason. It never was really discussed, she collected more roosters than anything. So, I never really thought much of rabbits until my mom died. Then I seemed to notice them in so many of her things. Gardening stuff mostly but sometimes in the forms of little figurines.
Anytime now that I see all the rabbits in my garden, real or not, I think of her. So much of what I have was hers, possessions-wise. That goes inside and out.
My family never said rabbit, rabbit, rabbit but I liked the sentiment. So good luck to us all this month, I’m sure we can all use it!

Learn more about me on the ‘About’ page under the additional links menu. I’m an artist – a painter mostly and an avid gardener. I paint a variety of subjects including birds, koi fish, my gardens, ponds and flowers as well as anything having to do with nature especially trees and tropical scenes. I also enjoy painting abstracts and have started created more and more of them. My most favorite thing to try to achieve in my painting is is mystery and telling mystical stories.
If you would like to keep up with what I’m doing, I have a newsletter e-mailed about once a month that gives you special status for invitations, birthday greeting and more. I’d love for you to add your email to my Friends and Collectors list!
