The Shop Local Fine Art Exhibit opened today at Hoosier Salon Gallery in New Harmony, IN. It’s a holiday shopping sort of exhibit. I’ve got 14 small pieces of art in there ranging from 4″x4″ to 6″x6″ canvases. Prices are $45-$60. There’s also an artist reception that I plan to attend next Saturday, 11/12/22, from 4-6 pm. There will be refreshments and plenty of conversation. The food is always so good at Linda’s receptions, so I suggest you don’t miss it!

Here’s what Hoosier Salon looks like from the street view (see below). New Harmony is such a quaint little town with historical buildings lovingly preserved. Most all of the businesses are housed in the old buildings lining the streets. They have beautiful details, squeaky floors and all.

Below are some of my paintings that I took to the gallery. The one is front is one of my favorites “Listen for the wings”. These paintings are so fun to create. When I work on them, I kinda go crazy and make a bunch at a time. They’re on chunky 1.5″ canvas and look great hanging or on a shelf. These are 6″x6″. The Shop Local Fine Art exhibit is focusing on smaller, budget friendly gift giving pieces. My organic abstracts fit the bill perfectly.

You’ve maybe heard of First Fridays, well this is Second Saturdays – Held the second Saturday of the month. New Harmony is a local tourist town and gets most of our traffic Saturday and Sunday. Touristy as in if you’re within driving distance, it’s a fun little town to visit for the weekend. Second Saturdays a town wide event and lasts all day long. We have quite a few art galleries here and they’ll all be having something special going on as well as the other businesses in New Harmony.

Here’s a list of things that are going on including a Ghost Walk with my friend Joni Mayhan! Click on it to see it a little bigger.

Before I go, I wanted to tease you with something I’m really excited to share! I have to wait until Monday though to give you all the details. My art has been selected to be in an art calendar collaborative project! There are nearly 90 artists world wide participating. There will be options to purchase from 3 wall calendars and a planner. Each calendar/planner will have the work of each artist on it. If you get the planner, you’ll see new art every day! The wall calendars will be printed on high quality card stock paper and suitable for cutting out and framing later.

So check back Monday and I’ll have all the details of where you buy – it’s available online only. There’s of course a deadline to buy. We have to get them printed and ready to mail out for gift giving season. So they’ll be only available Monday 11/7-11/21 which isn’t very long. Once they’re gone, they’re gone! I’ll have the link Monday – See you then!  ~Jaime

Learn more about me on the ‘About’ page under the additional links menu. I’m an artist – a painter mostly and an avid gardener. I paint a variety of subjects including birds, koi fish, my gardens, ponds and flowers as well as anything having to do with nature especially trees and tropical scenes. I also enjoy painting abstracts and have started created more and more of them. My most favorite thing to try to achieve in my painting is is mystery and telling mystical stories.
