I work in my gardens almost daily from spring until fall and I take tons of photos, but I don’t share them on my blog as much as I’d like to. So today I’m sharing some favorite flowers from this spring up until now but I’m splitting it up into a few posts.
Social media has made it so easy to post the photos I take so I sometimes forget to blog about them. If you’d like to see my flowers on a consistant basis, I share them on my garden page on Facebook called Jaime’s Gardens ~ An Artists gardens.
Let’s begin… I’ll start with this gorgeous red rhododendron that was blooming back in May!
This purple and yellow baptisia also known as false indigo has just gotten more and more beautiful the older it gets. Of course now the blooms are long gone and I am left with attractive foliage and seed pods.
This is Twilight Prarieblues and the photo is a little decieving, it’s not quite this purple the sun was just right and my phone brightened it up some. It’s more of a grayish purple.
Here’s another baptisia called Lemon Meringue. This one is getting there and filling out. I have it in front of my koi pond, in between the koi pond and lake.
Ahhh this clematis… more of my favorite flowers down in my Studio Gardens (the garden area in front of my art studio)
Speaking of my koi pond, water lilies are some of my favorite flowers too.
These white lilies really came into their own this year, surprisingly. It’s only the second year for them. I got them out of a mixed bag from Aldi’s so I’m not sure what variety they are but they’re gorgeous and smell divine.
The pink peony that is the featured image above is Sarah Bernhardt.
So there’s a nice little collection from this spring. On the next post, I’ll share more favorites from this summer.
Learn more about me on the ‘About’ page under the additional links menu. I’m an artist – a painter mostly and an avid gardener. I paint a variety of subjects including birds, koi fish, my gardens, ponds and flowers as well as anything having to do with nature especially trees and tropical scenes. I also enjoy painting abstracts and have started created more and more of them. My most favorite thing to try to achieve in my painting is is mystery and telling mystical stories.
If you would like to keep up with what I’m doing, I have a newsletter e-mailed about once a month that gives you special status for invitations, birthday greeting and more. I’d love for you to add your email to my Friends and Collectors list!
Jaime, your green thumb is shinning brightly in your garden. Not only are you talented on canvas, but your garden is obviously your natural canvas. Very beautiful blooms. Your touch is felt by Mother Nature.
Jerry
Thank you Jerry, it’s so great to hear from you! You are always so generous with your compliments, I appreciate that. With all the rain we’ve had this year, I’ve barely had to water anything and most everything is flourishing, including the weeds. I’ve loved seeing your gardens on Instagram, wish we lived closer because I’d be hitting you up for some of those koi babies!
