This past Wednesday, I got to see Stevie Nicks in concert with my two long time high school friends – Jody and Michelle. We had such a good time. The concert was awesome. Here are some of the many photos I took. We didn’t have nosebleed seats, but if there wasn’t the big TV’s hanging on both sides of the stage, I wouldn’t have been able to see her face.
It started out with the drive up to Indy.

We walked around a bit first and went to eat before the concert. We ate at Weber’s Grill. Michelle and I both got burgers, but Jody got a brisket that was out of the this world! My burger was okay, nothing to write about though.
Before Stevie Nicks concert
We got to Bankers Field House Stadium about an hour before the concert was supposed to start. People were streaming in already.

An hour before the show, people getting their seats.
First up were The Pretenders. They only played for about 35 minutes but sounded great. At first the instruments were too loud for the lead singers voice (Chrissie Hynde), but they fixed it after a couple songs. She really has a beautiful voice.

Here’s Chrissie Hynde, the lead singer on the big TV. She sounded really good and the band was awesome!

During about a 30 minute intermission they cleared out the Pretenders equipment and brought up Stevie’s stuff.
She explained that the “24K Gold Tour – Songs from the vault” was about all her favorite songs that she kept referring to pulling out of the gothic vault trunk. She talked a lot during the concert, telling stories about a lot of the songs. I really liked that because I love to know about the back story.
All her sets were pretty. They changed all the time and a new theme for each song. Some had animation and some lights just flashing like a disco. The set for Stand Back was stunning and exciting. I would’ve liked it though if they would’ve just had her great big on the screen so I could’ve seen her better (and gotten better photos!).
Here’s a bunch of the sets – and this wasn’t even all of them. She had a few wardrobe changes, well not changes more like additions likes shawls and coats. They were all beautiful, I especially loved the original shawl from the Bella Donna album.

Stop Draggin’ my Heart Around set (at first!)

I can’t remember which set, but I liked it. A butterfly and snake.

Good look at how crowded it was!
She can pack a house still and the show was fantastic, the crowd loved her including myself. She played a bunch of the favorite hits and some from her new album. This wonderfully creative and inspiring woman is 68 years old! She had such an encouraging message for us, especially the women, throughout the concert. I have always been a Stevie Nicks fan as well as a Fleetwood Mac fan and this concert did not disappoint. I would’ve loved to hear Silver Springs but at least I have it as an mp3.
My personal favorites like Rhiannon, Gold Dust Woman and Landslide were great to hear and impressive. I don’t usually like concerts too much because the music usually isn’t as good as the album, but this I have to say was really good. The crowd was loud and sang along a lot, but that added to the fun. I could tell everyone was having a blast.
I saw all kinds of ladies dressed up in all the stages of Stevie Nicks fashions. I wish I had gotten more photos, but I didn’t think about it until we were leaving. I got these few. I saw lots and lots of thigh high boots…

people after the concert – check out these sexy boots!

lots of flowing skirts, hippy hair and boots
But the best costumes I saw (on the way out at least) were these two. If you’ve known me very long, you know how I love costumes (see my own Halloween costume designs here). I had to beg my friend Jody to snap a photo for me because my phone was dead. They are a little more Steampunk than Stevie in my opinion, but they get an A+ for effort! If I hadn’t had to drive so far, I would’ve been in costume as well. Heck, some of my normal clothes could be worn for her concert!

I don’t really have a bucket list, but if I did seeing Stevie Nicks would be on it. I guess I can cross that off now! I would also like to see Fleetwood Mac, I hear they are still touring and you know time is limited.
I’d say this was one of my favorite concerts I’ve attended. What concert stands out in your mind as your favorite? I’d love to hear, leave me a comment.
I’ll leave you with a snippet of her magical Landslide performance.
