I hope you all have had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend. I have been busy, I hosted Thanksgiving again this year for my immediate family which involved getting the house in a decent shape. No easy task… I’m still looking for things that were hid from view! LOL
I also have been preparing for a big Christmas Art show for next weekend called Christmas in New Harmony. If you don’t recall me mentioning it, it is a two day show and the whole town gets in on the act. There is breakfast with Santa, the town is decked out with their best Christmas decorations, there are horse and carriage rides, a live nativity, and a parade just to mention a few. I always have the next show on my EVENTS page, but I’ll go ahead and put the map here today, too.
This year is the first year I’ll offer calendars for sale with my paintings on them and I’m so excited! Also new this year are small art blocks that I’ve painted on and kept small, perfect for stocking stuffers. Some have mono prints on them from the stamps I have hand carved from my drawings and some are just abstract designs with beautiful colors. I imagine these being displayed on small shelves or a niche and they are perfect on a window sill for a splash of design and color. They just might be the answer to the gift exchange at work, since they would spruce up a desk or cubicle quite nicely.
Below is a sneak peak of some of what I’ve got going. These are all one of a kinds, too. No two are alike, they may have the same mono print but all the backgrounds are individually painted and unique.
Some of my carvings will be made into mono print note cards. I think I may add splashes of color under them first. Not sure yet, still playing around.
Here is one of the mono prints of swimming koi fish.Well I hope you and your family had a great Thanksgiving weekend and if you’re anywhere local to me I hope you’ll stop by the Artisan Market in the Rapp-Owen Granary December 7th & 8th at Christmas in New Harmony and say hi. Enjoy the day.
You have been busy, girl! love your carving…
Thanks Kathy! I have been busy and it’s not over. Thank you for stopping by 🙂
You sound like me….scrambling at the last minute to get things done for show. I will be burning the midnight oil too!
Hi Gloria! I know you are making goodies up until the very last moment just like me! I’ll be setting up my booth Friday evening but I’ll bet I’m still up until all hours trying to get that last minute painting or whatever it is I’m working on! Happens every time, ha ha. I’m so glad you popped by the blog and commented! 🙂
