I’ve been preparing for my biggest show of the year for the last month and a half. Christmas at the Cabin is getting here quick. It’s the 17th Annual show and my fifth time to have the honor of being asked to show there.
Christmas at the Cabin runs for 3 days and the hours are:
12/12 Friday 10-4
12/13 Saturday 9-4
12/14 Sunday 12-3

This year, I’ve painted some holiday themed paintings. I don’t usually paint Christmas themed but I thought I’d try it out this year. So far, Christmas Kitties, wreaths, Christmas trees, holiday abstracts and angels have all been created. My kitties and Holiday abstracts can be found in my Holiday Shop here. I’m also shaking it up a little with my art style. I’ve been feeling like I want to loosen up more and paint more expressively. Less tight, more fun.
And it has been more fun. I’ve been less concerned with painting things “correctly” and diving into what feels right. It’s kinda hard.
Letting go of what I think is the “right” way to paint and allowing my natural tendency to come out and play is taking patience and practice. But it’s been fun. I’m looking forward to exploring it more. I’d love for you to follow along this journey with me.

I paint a variety of subjects including birds, koi fish, my gardens, ponds and flowers as well as anything having to do with nature especially trees and tropical scenes. I also enjoy painting abstracts and have started created more and more of them. My most favorite thing to try to achieve in my painting is is mystery and telling mystical stories.
